My Home Town
Is an audio CD tracing the history and development of Sandersville, Georgia. It includes its early founding after the Revolutionary War as the seat of one of Georgia's mother counties and was the first in the nation named for George Washington. Trauma visited the town when it was burned by Sherman on his March To The Sea. The town's revival, resettlement and mix of Native American, Black, White, European, and Asian cultures from progressive periods of immigration continues to the present day. Never a homogeneous White culture, the county's residents had their trials, survived, and ultimately prospered through changing times. The CD was recorded by the author, and is available for $8.00.
